General Ledger Accountant
Our client is seeking a dynamic individual contributor to fill the position of General Ledger Accountant (Contract). As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the intercompany accounting of global business and will be developing and enhancing the financial systems supporting a fast-growing global presence.
In this role, you will work closely with a large team of cross-functional business partners, engineers, and the broader finance team to develop scalable accounting and operation solutions for month end close activities. As a self-starter who works with limited direction, you will take full ownership of your areas of responsibility. You excel in problem solving, leading automation projects, recommending sound solutions, and analyzing and understanding complex data. You combine business acumen and technical accounting knowledge to provide sound advice to your business partners. General Ledger Accountant
Responsibilities
Partner with Finance, Operations and Business Development teams to understand business models, and provide accounting support for Intercompany transactions.
Perform month-end close procedures including preparation of intercompany journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary. Drive efficiencies in the financial close and seek out process improvements.
Work closely with the accounting team and help develop additional desktop procedures based on training provided for future process additions or improvements. Help improve business processes and automate reporting through partnering with IT to help the business scale for future growth.
Assist with development of accounting policies and operations for new accounting initiatives and business processes.
Participate in special projects and execute other duties as appropriate, e.g. data collection, compilation, reporting and process automation and presentation, etc.
Requirements
Recognized accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
Excellent team player who is very comfortable working as part of a larger team located in different locations
2-3+ years relevant industry experience (post qualification) with large, fast-growing, multi-national company
Solid knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and other local GAAPs
Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel
Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement
Preferred requirements
Big 4 experience
Experience with Oracle ERP or similar package
