Hardware Operations Technician

 

Due to ongoing growth, the Facebook office in Cork is currently recruiting for a Hardware Operations Technician. At Facebook, we are developing the future of AR/VR displays. As a Hardware Operations Technician you will play an important role in a multi-disciplinary team developing and introducing new LED display components, Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to approach operational tasks with curiosity and tenacity, and able to find ways to support our cross functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming and outgoing shipments including but not limited to receiving, dispatching, inspecting, storing, packaging wafers and other material and keeping systems updated
• Support setting up and maintain wafer storage and lab supplies
• Support small scale production planning for global sites
• Liaise with suppliers on tracking work progress and report to the project team
• Communicate with research teams, projects managers and logistics teams for wafer transactions, daily priorities and status updates
• Support process improvement projects such a testing and build systems in the areas of inventory and wafer transaction management

Skills:

• Working experience in supply chain and planning function
• Experience of working within a manufacturing or laboratory environment, including use of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
• Use of MS Office software including Excel, Word
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Able to work on own initiative after training, with limited supervision
• Knowledge of process improvements concepts
• Attention to detail and methodical worker

Education / Qualifications

• Minimum - college certificate or diploma in a science, mathematics or engineering subject
• Support wafer inventory tracking and forecasting for technology team
• Managing incoming wafer shipments
• Managing outgoing wafer shipments
• Updating Manufacturing Execution System database
• Managing wafer storage and lab supply
• Ordering and tracking wafer storage and shipping supplies and other lab consumables Communicate with research teams, projects managers and logistics teams for daily priorities and status updates.

Education / Qualifications

• Minimum - college certificate or diploma in a science , mathematics or engineering subject
