Project Officer required for 4 months starting 3rd April with our Research client based in Dublin.

The Project Officer will be assigned to the Data Infrastructures and Personalised Medicine portfolio within the unit which focuses on more recent and emerging areas of focus for the company including genomic and precision medicine and the shift to more personalised and data-intensive approaches to healthcare.

This team also supports the strategic objective of promoting and enabling data to shape health policy, enhance healthcare delivery, and drive broader research and innovation initiatives, and importantly to make progress in better collection, sharing, linkage and transparent governance of health data nationally. The nature of the work involves significant amount of data gathering, strategic analysis and planning, and pro-active stakeholder management to build strong relationships in Ireland and beyond.

Essential knowledge and experience
Formal requirements include:

A PhD in a relevant area; OR a Master’s degree with at least three year’s appropriate research / professional experience in a relevant area

Research experience is essential, but it is important to note that this is an administrative role and not a research role.Desirable requirements include:

Prior experience in research funding.

High degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and experience of databases

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge of research management, governance, funding, evaluation and policy issues

Knowledge of national health research, and of the Irish academic and health services environment
