IT Support Specialist
Are you an IT Professional looking to further develop your career in a dynamic, fast paced, multi-sited manufacturing environment. My Client a Global Manufacturer of packaging solutions who partner with some of the worlds leading Organisations across Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Cosmetics and Consumer Goods are looking to attract a Technical Support Specialist to support their IT infrastructure across their Irish sites in Castlebar and Drogheda. The successful candidate will co-ordinate and deliver end user and infrastructure support to the Ireland sites and contribute to specific EMEA wide IT infrastructure projects. This role is being offered on a remote basis but there will be a requirement to be on site in both Drogheda and Castlebar as and when required.
Key responsibilities:
- Organise end user and infrastructure support through tools and resources in place, improve continuously the service through KPI management.
- Guide and advise business leaders on the best practices to apply for a high and secure business productivity.
- Proceed request and changes according to the global policies and aligned with the best practices shared into the EMEA IT team.
- Technology Support - Responding to breakdowns. Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners. Investigating, diagnosing and solving technical hardware faults.
- Interfacing with vendor hardware support contacts where appropriate and ensuring that hardware is returned to serviceability with minimum possible impact on operations. Providing support for MAC and PC/Laptop/Tablet/Mobile Device.
- Act as an IT technical resource for technology project implementation. Recommend and implement appropriate hardware and software solutions under the direction of the Manager of Technology Services
- Operate, maintain, support, and contribute to the evolution of the existing infrastructure serving the main production system for the entire EMEA region. This includes back/front office, network, and peripherals components. Manage key infrastructure projects, maintaining timeline, budget and providing clear reporting to management.
- Monitor systems resources including uptime, hardware, software and network. Manage and perform maintenance to hardware and software.
- Maintain appropriate vendor support relationships. Monitor and discuss vendor performance monthly and negotiate, agree and purchase support credits where appropriate. Ensure SLAs are adhered to,
- Provide education and mentoring to all users when implementing and enforcing IT policy process and procedures. Work with local Sarbanes Oxley representative when appropriate to ensure compliance of IT financial and security controls.
Key requirements:
- The successful candidate will have 3-5 years previous experience in a technical support role providing infrastructure support across multiple sites.
- Advanced skill in deploying and supporting Microsoft enterprise technologies, like complex AD configurations, GPOs, Windows Servers modules, RDP terminal servers, scripting, etc .
- Skills in operating and maintaining Large and local scale network made of SDWAN, LAN, ISPs, VPNs, Switch, and router configuration, WIFI, etc
- Proven experience in administering Office 365 in a multiple thousand licenses context.
- Experience of virtual environments, preferably based on Hyper-V and/or VMWare
- Sourcing, negotiating and procurement of IT components and services, maintaining relationships with 3rd party suppliers and partners.
