MAIN DUTIES

  • Assess credit applications including personal, business, line of credit, overdraft, reschedules and, if required, mortgage applications. 
    • Review borrower’s ability to repay
    • Assembling the paperwork associated with the application
    • Review credit reports, e.g. CCR reports. 
    • Analysing applicants’ financial circumstances
    • Conducting stress tests as required
  • Approving loan applications within approval authorities / policy
  • Contacting members relating to ongoing applications / decision outcomes
  • Administrative duties associated with the work of the team.
  • Reviewing applications to extend / reschedule agreements
  • Preparing and presenting complex loan applications to the Lending Team Manager / Combined Authority / Credit Committee / Board. 
  • Participate in Combined Authority meetings as required
  • Keeping minutes of meetings as required
  • Deputise for Lending Team Assistant Managers in their absence, as required.
    • Making appropriate decisions and taking appropriate actions to support the smooth running of the Lending Team 
    • Communicating any such decisions / actions to the Lending Team, Assistant Lending Manager -Senior Lending, as required
  • Contributing to the credit policy as part of the team discussions 
  • Assisting with / participating on Board Committees, in particular, but not limited to; the Credit Committee.
  • Any other related duties, which may be requested by the Lending Team Manager or by the Board of Directors via the Senior Management Team from time to time. 
  • Adherence to guidelines and policies 
  • Identify the need for training either within the team or throughout the wider organisation 
  • To prioritise all tasks required to be completed according to their urgency
  • Attending Committee / Board Meetings and other meetings as required
  • Ensure that appropriate controls are maintained on the work and that the Assistant Manager Senior Lending is kept informed, particularly where there is deviation from the agreed time frames or policies.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  1. Must hold at a minimum of a APA in Loans or equivalent that also satisfies the Minimum Competency Qualification in line with the requirements of the Central Bank of Irelands Minimum Competency Code
  2. They will also require to achieve APA in Saving & Investments if they do not currently hold this. 
  3. Meet & Satisfy Fitness & Probity requirements 
  4. A relevant third level or professional qualification an advantage
  5. 2 -3 years’ underwriting experience required
  6. Good working knowledge of Wellington IT (Scion) and strong IT skills an advantage
