Project Manager- Eng and Construction

We are looking for a part-time Project Manager to lead critical reviews and research initiatives in the field of construction standards for our public sector client based in Santry. This position offers flexibility, with 80% remote work within Ireland over a 2 year contract, with 20 hours working per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate research and technical reviews of critical building standards, including I.S. 465:2018+A1:2020 and other concrete block standards.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary stakeholders to evaluate data, identify knowledge gaps, and drive the advancement of technical standards.
  • Prepare tender documents, oversee project tenders, and manage resources for research projects.
  • Analyze and report on research outputs, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Fulfill the role of the main technical interface between project leads and stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and progress.
  • Identify and resolve project risks and propose process improvements for future projects.

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 8 degree in Engineering, Geology, Architecture, Building Surveying, or a related field.
  • Professional registration (e.g., Chartered Engineer, Professional Geologist, Registered Architect, or Building Surveyor) with the relevant Irish or equivalent professional body.
  • Proven project management experience in engineering, concrete technology, geotechnical engineering, or related areas.
  • Strong experience in coordinating research programs, with a deep understanding of construction defects and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Full driving license and proficiency in MS Office Suite.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in standards development and public procurement.
  • Expertise in construction defects identification, technical report writing, and assessment of research outputs.

 

Core Competencies:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and stakeholders.
  • Advanced project management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, and decision-making.
  • In-depth specialist knowledge in residential construction practices and building standards.
