We are currently hiring for a Mechanical Engineer to join our public sector client based in Santry, Dublin 09 on a contract role for 6-12 months. The individual will be supporting the Head of Division and Senior Automotive Engineers
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Evaluate EU and UNECE product approval applications from designated Technical Services, determine compliance and recommend approval.
• Ensure that Conformity of Production (COP) requirements of manufacturers meet EU requirements.
• Develop National Motor Vehicle Approval schemes to support the implementation of national requirements for all vehicle categories:
• Liaise with National stakeholders re National requirements for Approved Vehicle Body Builders (AVBB) and Approved Test Centres (ATC).
• Evaluate National product approval applications from designated AVBBs, determine compliance and recommend approval.
• Preform workshop assessments for Tachograph, Plating and Road Speed Limiter requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
• Third level Hons Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8) in a relevant engineering or science related discipline.
• 2 years relevant experience. Desirable
• Have competence in EU/UNECE Motor Vehicle Requirements.
• Ability to develop procedures/processes to support the Division.
• Have competence in National requirements for M, N and O. category vehicles.
